Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Bleacher Mates. The short version: you must be an adult, you own and are responsible for what you post, we connect people but we do not screen or vouch for them, and you use the service at your own risk.

1. Who can use Bleacher Mates

You must be 18 or older and legally able to enter a contract. By creating an account you confirm that you are. We may ask for proof of age or identity and may suspend any account we believe belongs to a minor. Bleacher Mates is for parents, guardians and other adults involved in youth club sports. No child may hold an account or use yours.

2. Your account

Keep your sign-in method secure and your profile truthful. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. One account per person. We may suspend or close an account at any time for a violation of these terms or the Community Guidelines, or to protect members.

3. Your content and your photos

You own the photos, text and other content you post. By posting, you give Bleacher Mates a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display and transmit that content to operate and promote the service, which ends when you delete it or your account, except for copies in backups or reports already made.

You are solely responsible for your content. Each time you upload a photo or other content you represent and warrant that:

you took it or otherwise have the right to post it, and it does not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity rights;
every adult in it knows they are appearing on a dating and community app and has agreed to it;
it shows you, as you look today. A child may appear only if you are in the photo too, clothed for the setting, never a child alone, never a close-up of a child, never a child who is not yours, and never anything that identifies a child (name, jersey number with team, school, club or schedule);
it contains no nudity, underwear or swimwear, sexual content or suggestive poses; no weapons, drugs or visible intoxication; no hate symbols, violence or gore; and no text, QR codes, links, contact details, logos or advertising;
it is a real photograph, not generated, edited or enhanced by AI, and not altered to change how you look. We may scan uploads for AI content credentials and other markers and remove images that carry them;
it is not a screenshot or image of another member, and not an image of any person posted to harass, impersonate, expose or deceive;
you are not using another person's name, image, voice or likeness, or presenting yourself as someone you are not.

The full photo rules, including what we require for your first photo, are in the Community Guidelines and form part of these terms. We may remove any content, require you to replace a photo, or require a live selfie verification at any time. Violations involving children, sexual content or impersonation result in a permanent ban.

Bleacher Mates is not responsible for what members do with content you choose to post, including saving, screenshotting or sharing it. Post only what you are comfortable with strangers seeing. Report misuse and we will act on it, but we cannot undo it.

We may remove any content at our discretion, and we remove reported intimate imagery posted without consent within 48 hours (see Safety).

4. What Bleacher Mates is, and is not

Bleacher Mates is a platform that lets adults who follow youth sports find and talk to each other. We are not a party to any meeting, relationship, carpool, hotel split, transaction or anything else that happens between members, online or offline.

We do not conduct criminal background screenings of members. We do not verify identity beyond the sign-in method you use. We do not vouch for any member. People can and do misrepresent themselves. Read our Safety page before meeting anyone.

5. What you agree not to do

Use the service if you are under 18, or let anyone under 18 use it.
Harass, threaten, stalk, discriminate against or intimidate anyone, on or off the platform.
Post content about or photos of children alone, or identify a child by name, school, team or schedule.
Solicit money, sell anything, promote a business or recruit without our written permission.
Impersonate anyone, use another person's name, photos or likeness, misstate your age, status or relationship situation, or run more than one account.
Post AI-generated or AI-altered images of yourself or of any child, or use automated tools to write to members at scale.
Scrape, copy, automate or reverse engineer the service, or use it to collect information about members.
Use information from the service to contact, locate or track a member outside the service without their consent.
Post anything unlawful, or use the service for any unlawful purpose.

6. Reporting, blocking and enforcement

Every profile and message has report and block controls. Blocking hides you and the other person from each other permanently. We review reports, may remove content, warn, suspend or ban, and may cooperate with law enforcement. We are not obliged to tell you the outcome of a report about another member.

7. Your location

We ask for your city and state and convert them to approximate coordinates to show you members within the distance you choose. Your card shows your city only. If you turn on “Near me,” your device location is used on your device, only while the app is open, to sort events and offer check-in; it is off by default and we do not store it.

8. Payments

Bleacher Mates is free right now. If we add paid features later, the price and refund terms will be stated clearly before you pay. Bleacher Mates does not host events; meetups are arranged by members, for members.

9. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy of member information, or that the service will be uninterrupted or secure. You use the service, and meet members, at your own risk.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bleacher Mates, Yayah Creative LLC and their owners, employees and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from the conduct of any member, from content posted by members, from any meeting or relationship that begins on the service, or from unauthorized access to your content. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the past twelve months or one hundred US dollars.

11. Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold Bleacher Mates and Yayah Creative LLC harmless from claims, losses and expenses, including reasonable attorney fees, arising from your content, your use of the service, your interactions with other members, or your breach of these terms.

12. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from your profile or by emailing hello@bleachermates.com. Deleting removes your profile, photos, likes and matches from the service. Messages you sent remain visible to the people you sent them to. We keep records needed for safety, legal compliance or disputes.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota, and you consent to their jurisdiction. [Pending attorney review: arbitration clause and class action waiver.]

14. Changes

We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with a new date and, for material changes, tell you in the app or by email. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the change.
