Safety

Last updated November 7, 2026 · Bleacher Mates is operated by Yayah Creative LLC, Minnesota.

Meeting someone from the internet carries risk, even when they are a parent in the same gym. Here is how to lower it, what we do, and what we do not do.

Safety awareness notice: Bleacher Mates does not conduct criminal background screenings of its members. Members can misrepresent who they are. Use the same judgment you would with any stranger.

Before you meet

  • Keep conversations in the app until you feel comfortable. Scammers push to move to text or another app fast.
  • Do a video call first. It is the quickest way to confirm a person is who their photos show.
  • Search their name and photos. A reverse image search takes a minute.
  • Never send money, gift cards or crypto, and never share financial, account or login details, no matter the story.
  • Be careful what you share about your kids: ages and sports are enough. Never names, schools, teams or schedules in a chat with someone you have not met.

When you meet

  • Meet in public. A tournament venue, the hotel lobby, the restaurant where the team eats: these are good first meetings. Someone's room or car is not.
  • Tell a friend who you are meeting, where and when, and check in after.
  • Drive yourself or arrange your own ride, so you can leave when you want.
  • Stay sober enough to make decisions, and keep an eye on your drink.
  • Your kids do not need to be part of a first meeting. Meet the adult first, on your own terms.
  • Trust your gut. If something is off, leave. You owe nobody an explanation.

What Bleacher Mates does

  • Adults only, with email or phone verification at sign-up.
  • Your city is shown on your card, never your precise location. Nobody can see where you are, only the events you check in to. Live location is optional, used only while the app is open, and never stored.
  • Dating profiles are visible only to members who also chose Dating.
  • We screen uploaded photos for AI content credentials and generator markers and reject images that carry them. We may ask any member for a live selfie check.
  • Report and Block on every card and every chat. Blocking is permanent and mutual.
  • We review reports, remove content, suspend and ban, and cooperate with law enforcement.
  • We remove intimate images posted without the subject's consent within 48 hours of a valid report (see below).

What Bleacher Mates does not do

  • We do not run criminal background or sex offender registry checks.
  • We do not verify identity beyond your sign-in method, and we do not confirm that photos are of the person using the account.
  • We cannot control what members do with photos or information you share with them.
  • We are not present at meetings and are not responsible for what happens at them.

Report intimate imagery posted without consent

If an intimate image or video of you, or of someone you represent, appears on Bleacher Mates without consent, email hello@bleachermates.com with the subject “Removal request,” a link or description of where it appears, a statement that you are the person depicted or authorized to act for them, and that it was posted without consent. We remove it, and identical copies we can identify, within 48 hours of receiving a valid request, as required by the federal TAKE IT DOWN Act. You may also report to the FTC.

If something happens

  • In immediate danger: call 911.
  • Sexual assault: RAINN National Sexual Assault Hotline, 1-800-656-4673, or online.rainn.org, 24 hours.
  • Domestic violence: National Domestic Violence Hotline, 1-800-799-7233 or text START to 88788.
  • Report the member to us at hello@bleachermates.com or with the Report button, and tell us if you have reported to police so we can preserve records.
